What solvent extraction do

What to evaluate when sourcing
Because sourcing needs differ by equipment type, these are the questions that matter most for solvent extraction specifically:
- Scale threshold — solvent extraction earns its complexity only above a certain daily tonnage; below it, pressing is usually the right route.
- Solvent safety & recovery — hexane handling, vapour recovery and fire/ATEX design are central; ask how solvent losses and safety are managed.
- Meal desolventizing — the DTDC (desolventizer-toaster-dryer-cooler) strips solvent from meal and sets meal quality.
- Turnkey scope — extraction is rarely bought alone; clarify whether preparation, distillation and refining are included.
