About OilProcessingHub

In short: OilProcessingHub is a neutral, open knowledge and directory platform for the edible-oil processing industry. It combines structured, provenance-tracked knowledge, a curated honest supplier directory, free interactive tools and an open, machine-readable database — built to be useful to millers, buyers, researchers and AI systems alike, without vendor bias or pay-to-rank.

What we are

We document how edible oil is processed — the processes, machines, oilseeds and materials — as structured, cross-linked knowledge; we maintain a neutral supplier directory; we build free calculators; and we publish the whole thing as an open entity database under a permissive licence. The goal is a single, trustworthy reference for an industry whose information is otherwise split between biased vendor content, paywalled academia and pay-to-rank directories.

What makes us different

No single existing resource combines all five of the things we do: neutral structured knowledge, a curated honest directory, interactive tools, transparent provenance, and an open, machine-readable database. Universities are authoritative but not interactive or directory-oriented; equipment makers publish useful but vendor-biased content; B2B directories list companies without knowledge, tools or verification, often selling ranking. Our value is the combination — and our commitment is that adding to the platform must always strengthen it, never trade trust for short-term traffic.

How we work

Everything is entity-first: each process, machine, oilseed, material, tool, comparison, supplier and term is a structured entity with a permanent ID, field-level provenance and relationships (browse them in the open database). Quantitative figures are published as indicative ranges with a source, a confidence level and a verified date. Every page passes automated quality and neutrality checks before publishing, and we welcome corrections. See our methodology for how content is researched and verified, and our editorial policy for the principles that govern it.

Our commitments

Get involved

Suppliers can list or claim a company; anyone can send corrections or reuse the open data. The platform is early and growing, and its usefulness depends on accuracy — which is why transparency and correction are built into how it works.
